Our Story
We got engaged on December 17, 2022 at Agate Beach in Copper Harbor during a snow storm. By Alex's design, it was almost the exact site of our first date, after watching Oh Brother, Big Sister perform at the Orpheum Theater back in April 2015. We tried to catch a last look at some northern lights before graduating from Tech, but we ended up being able to only appreciate the stars and each other.
We spent the next 4 years making a long distance relationship work, with Alex in CA and me in the Detroit suburbs. So many long weekends plane tickets, and tearful goodbyes. That all ended in 2019, when Alex got transferred to NYC and we moved to Brooklyn together. The city expanded our love of food, fashion, and each other but, after 3 years and a pandemic, we felt a draw back to quiet, open spaces. To home.
Now we live in Rapid River, MI, surrounded by trees rather than people, and we finally feel settled. People might say we took too much time getting engaged, but we think it happened right when, and where, it needed to.
